My tiny creative corner after a year!

02 June 2022

I can't believe that the last blogpost I wrote was almost a year ago! Where does the time go?! To break the spell: I'm sharing the latest photos of my little "creative" corner. My forever favourite spot in my little flat in London. Okay, I think I have already talked about how tiny my desk is, etc. I'm planning to write a post once a week, so hopefully I'll stick with this not-so-hard-to-follow schedule! Until the next time, cheers! x

My Tiny Creative Corner

29 August 2021

This little corner is where I'd be illustrating, listening to music, FaceTiming my family, drinking coffee and just sometimes thinking that my desk is too small. I mean it's an old school desk which I found on eBay, so it's made for kids probably age 8-12! I even rest my arm on my couch while drawing at my desk because there's not enough space on the desk itself. Anyway, there's something about it... it's got character and I've been drawing on it for more than two years now so I'm a little bit attached to it! This picture was taken when I'd just moved into my flat, fresh carpet (hence wearing my new jazzy socks) and my 'creative' corner was still quite raw I'd say!

I used to mostly draw on A5 and A4 paper and it was the perfect size to fit on my desk! But, recently I've been drawing on A3 and A2 paper and it's been a bit tricky... as you can see the paper has literally taken up the whole desk!
In order to make some space (I bet you are convinced by now that my desk is tiny!), I got this amazing wooden shelf and the cork board which I'm quite pleased about!

I recently stumbled upon May + Co Interiors; they are the East Oxford duo, Amy and Martin, selling 20th-century furniture and homeware. They buy and restore a wide range of furniture and sell at affordable prices. I absolutely love their furniture; it's beautiful. So I've been keeping my eyes peeled on their website at all times, just in case I come across my dream desk! Check out their Instagram page for shop updates and their furniture-hunting stories. Incredible!
For the time being, I am grateful for my good old tiny desk! We'll see what happens in the future...
Happy Sunday! x

when in doubt, drink a cup of tea!

20 August 2021

It's Friday night. Happy weekend! I'm sitting on my bed with my laptop on my pillow, listening to Pink Moon by Nick Drake which brings back good memories of the time I was living in Dubai. After browsing Netflix for a good half an hour and feeling absolutely uninspired and kind of giddy, I got off my a** and made myself a nice cup of pear and elderflower tea.

I took a sip and I felt so much better; like instantly got inspired to write my first blogpost (what a sip indeed!). I used to blog fews years ago and I really enjoyed it. Then I stopped when I got hooked on Instagram. But, I'm back at it because I'm thinking that it's going to be a great outlet for my thoughts on trivial everyday stuff which I'd like to share. Probably nobody (or maybe two or three of my friends) is going to read my blog anyway, but as long as I feel a tad better after writing each blogpost, I'll be quite chuffed!

Now what to write about? I have absolutely no idea. Ah, I know what to write about (after staring at my wall for a few minutes); one little thing that made my day today!

I met one of my best friends on Wednesday and we were going to cook together (vegetarian feast: roasted veggies and lentil soup) and drink some wine and we did accomplish that mission perfectly. I'd given her a box of Pear & Elderflower tea and some chocolates. She messaged me this afternoon and said, "I'm going to have a cup of your tea now. I really like it. Thank you!" Yep, something as simple as that made me smile for few seconds and that was exactly when I got up and made myself a cuppa and it lifted my mood!

P.S. if you're going to brew some tea for yourself, make sure you're drinking your tea out of the nicest cup you've got, because that's where the magic lies!

and that's all for the first blogpost! x
